Open access and legal issues: Case study: open access journals
Addressing the various legal issues raised by uploading a document onto an open archive or publishing it in a open access review
Traditional journals versus open access journals
With regards to publishing an article, any legal differences depend on each review's policy, whether or not they authorise free copy of an article, in accordance with contractual conditions.
In traditional reviews, the restrictive copyright system is not in favour of exploiting and reusing scientific works for research purposes.
In open access reviews, although some rights are conveyed to the review, copying the articles or uploading them on an open archive server are authorised in most cases.
