Copyright in the digital era: Procedure for uploading the thesis online

Identifying the conditions of use of copyrighted works in a thesis published online

Uploading requires a contract

Uploading the thesis on the university server often requires the university and the doctoral student to finalise a contract of circulation.

The doctoral student may solely agree or disagree to the online circulation (or any other form of circulation) of his work.

The universities draw up their own contracts according to the general guidelines defined in the thesis charter.

The doctoral student may also upload their thesis online freely (without a contract with their university) on an open archive platform such as TEL.
